At a packed Victoria Gallery and Museum, Tom spoke about Roald Dahl's Marvellous Medicine and how and why he came to write the book. Afterwards Professor Sally Sheard (Professor of the History of Medicine) and Dr Esme Miskimmin (convenor of the Children's Literature module) led the audience discussion. At the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Tom Solomon spoke about his book during Dahl: The Phizz-Whizzing Storyteller. The session was chaired by Nicolette Jones who is the children's book editor at The Sunday Times, and included Dahl's official biographer Donald Sturrock and Jillian Tayor, who has edited a new edition of Dahl's adult stories.
