The largest ever outbreak of bird flu is spilling over into mammals, including otters and foxes in the UK with more than 200 million birds perishing in the outbreak. Professor Tom Solomon, CBE from The Pandemic Institute in Liverpool speaks to Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt about the risks of transmission of flu viruses between animals and humans and explains the importance of monitoring, study and research into developing tools to address future pandemic threats.
